I remember how I felt lost only after a few months in the labor market. Week after week, the common theme was conflict with a few (but so annoying) colleagues.
Most of the time, it was about a racist comment someone had made. At that time, my only way to face this was by quickly responding and telling them how their behavior was inappropriate. Then, I would retreat to ensure this did not happen again.
The problem was that I’m an extra-extrovert: I love interacting with people. I knew I couldn’t continue like that. Something had to change.
So I went on a 12-year journey to discover how to deal with difficult people at work.
The fun part is that, as a speaker, I teach it to others.
